IP and Business: Icelandic Patent Office 25th anniversary conference
The Icelandic Patent Office’s 25th anniversary year will culminate in the international conference IP and Business on the 17th of May in Harpa Reykjavik Concert Hall and Conference Centre.
The conference will gather top names in the field of IP rights as well as business and industry professionals from Iceland and abroad. The conference will be moderated by Edda Hermannsdóttir, the director of communication at Íslandsbanki, and will feature talks on IP rights and the important role they play in today’s business world. Among speakers will be Antonio Campinos, the president of the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market/ the European Union Intellectual Property Office (OHIM/EUIPO) and Ms. Wang Binying, Deputy Director General, Brands and Designs Sector, WIPO.
Harpa will feature an exhibition on the history of IP rights in Iceland running in parallel to the conference. The exhibition is designed by the artist and graphic designer Elsa Nielsen and will focus on patents, trademarks and design throughout the years in Iceland.
The conference and the exhibition will take place in Harpa Reykjavik Concert Hall and Conference Centre, entrance is free of charge.
